CFCC Teaching Tuesdays: Tai Chi for Beginners

This program is offered in partnership with Cape Fear Community College as part of our Teaching Tuesday series.

Tai chi, a mind-body relaxation exercise, is a slow-motion, meditative, non-combative martial art. It promotes core strength, physical and emotional well-being, health and wellness, and longevity. This art form is for youthful and aging populations - anyone between the ages of 7 and 107. Tai Chi teaches discipline and helps students with the following: develop inner core strength, improve balance and coordination, increase stamina, relieve stress, and open up to the flow of Chi, the energy or life force that flows within everyone. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing; Kung Fu/Tai Chi slippers (available for purchase online) are optional. Northeast Library, Oak Room. 6 hours. $65.
