BOE Volunteer Recruitment In-Person
The New Hanover County Board of Elections will host an Election Official recruitment session on Thursday, July 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Northchase Branch of the New Hanover County Public Library. The event will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about serving their community as election officials during Early Voting and on Election Day.
The recruitment session is open to New Hanover County residents interested in working at voting sites throughout the county. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Board of Elections staff, learn about the responsibilities of election officials, ask questions about the position, and begin the application process on-site.
Election officials play a vital role in ensuring elections are conducted fairly, accurately, and efficiently. Positions are available for a variety of roles during both the Early Voting period and on Election Day, and all selected applicants will receive training before serving.
Interested individuals should be at least 17 years old, registered to vote in New Hanover County, and willing to complete required training prior to serving. Elected officials, candidates for nomination, and campaign managers or treasurers are disqualified from serving.
Residents who are unable to attend the recruitment session may still apply online at NHCvote.com or contact the Board of Elections at (910) 798-7330 for additional information.
