Fort Fisher During WWII In-Person
Fort Fisher’s history extends beyond 1865. Join Cliff Tyndall and Becky Sawyer the authors of the new book Fort Fisher During WWII: Civil War Icon Revisited will be sharing the story of the importance of Fort Fisher to the war effort. Thousands of men and some women trained at the Fort Fisher Firing Point to learn how to use anti-aircraft artillery. The women risked their lives piloting airplanes that towed targets. There was even secret weapons testing.
