Introduction to Bee Keeping

Introduction to Bee Keeping In-Person

Join Ryan Ross of Free Bees Apiary to learn about the basics of beekeeping!

Ryan and Jen Ross started with 2 backyard hives to help pollinate their vegetable and flower gardens. Fast forward 3 years to 4 bee farms and production of 100s of gallons of honey per year. Ross teaches NC State Certified Bee Keeping Classes in New Hanover and Columbus Counties, and is certified by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. He'll talk about the basics of beekeeping and how to get started.

This program will be held on August 29th at the Main Library and again on September 10th at the Pine Valley Location.

This is a lead-up program to our special virtual program with Laurie R. King, author of The Bee Keeper's Apprentice, on Saturday, September 21st.
