Heritage Lecture Series at Pine Valley Library In-Person
Lunar New Year in the Vietnamese tradition and regional customs with Ginger R. Davis, PhD.
2025 is the year of the “wood snake.” The “wood” represents the strength to progress towards goals while maintaining harmony with one's surroundings, and the “snake” has long been considered a symbol of fertility and vitality. Please join us for a lecture with Ginger R. Davis, PhD, and discuss Lunar New Year in the Vietnamese tradition and other global customs. Dr. Davis will share recipes, decorating, and history for this festive time!
Dr. Ginger R. Davis is the Executive Director of the Lower Cape Fear Historical Society, Latimer House, and Kellam Archive. She is also a faculty member in Norwich University’s Graduate School. Her areas of specialization include U.S. Foreign Policy, the Cold War, Vietnamese Studies, and Black Liberation Studies.
